I thought the rock was here three weeks ago? Well the rock was there three weeks ago but then because of erosion it moved. Erosion is the movement of weathered or broken down rocks or sediment from one place to another. Humans can speed the erosion process up by digging holes and more. There are 5 types of erosion and anyone one of them can take place depending upon the area of where the rock is. The five types of erosion are

Water
Water is anywhere and erosion can be caused by the water moving picking up sediments with it. Examples are rivers or streams carrying small rocks and moving them to another location.

Wind
Wind is the most common type of erosion and carries the sediments or rocks with it as it blows just like 1930's Dust Bowl.

Waves
Water really has a lot to do with erosion and water waves carry the sand or sediment underneath it as it crashes ad/or drifts away pulling sand towards it.

Glaciers (ice)
You might not know but glaciers actually move! They move very slowly and maybe an inch or two in one year. Along with the glaciers moving, sediments get trapped with it or just move along with the glacier as it pushes it to another location.

Gravity
Gravity can move rocks or sediments by pushing it towards the earth or anywhere else. It might barely move an inch but it also might move feet. Types of gravity movements can be mass movement or mass wasting.
